We start with a Cliff Notes from our intern Abilene Kamstra on what the program is and how it was founded, then get a critical take from Richard W Halsey, director of the California Chaparral Institute, author of Fire, Chaparral, and Survival in Southern California, and one of the lead plaintiffs in recent litigation against Cal Fire, attempting to strike down the Environmental Impact Report on which the program is based. After that we'll hear from renowned redwood researcher, environmental scientist and ecologist Will Russell, PhD, about fuel breaks, restoration, as well as ponderings on 'agenda-driven science.'
